“Gazebo” is a very soft seat design, made by combining two large panels of dark walnut and framed with a hole pattern of colored chartreuse. The study of patterns begins with a uniform grid of circles that is digitally manipulated, morphing the size and shapes of the circles, so that a 2D surface begins to attain a 3D quality. The resulting visual effect is the weight of a body sitting and the reacting forces left as impressions on the oversized panels, thus giving the chair a dynamic living quality to it.
