Nursing Home Building

The project is located in a small town in northern Extremadura called “Baños de Montemayor”, surrounded by mountains and forests of chestnut and oak trees. The parcel is in between the urban core (composed of small volumes) and the area of widening of the 80´s (large buildings). From the top of the mountain, the building offers a clear dialogue between the two scales. The materials are the same ones used on the nearby buildings: granite and white plaster. Granite is chosen as material for contacting the ground, looking for its original texture (bucking granite), so that the pure white volumes would emerge cleanly. Read the rest of this entry »

Hotel Bachmair Weissach

House of Representation 01

This house is planned on a site from where there are beautiful views of the country side. The request from the client was for the creation of intimacy, but with a large living area. The exterior is designed as a monumental form so that I can seem to be a new addition to the scenery.

“I created a centripetal plan where each room is connected through a corridor from the multi-level live area. Around the corridor, walls, which have different textures and shapes, make a sequence inside the space.
