ContemporaryLighting Spiral

Designer Marco Dessi of Vienna will present a light made from glass tubes woven with silk rope at SuperDesign in London, which opens tomorrow. The tubes are bent into hexagonal shapes and slotted onto the silk cords, while a double-helix of halogen bulbs extends from a single stem inside. Called Basket, the piece was created with Viennese glass company Lobmeyr. These lamps are very traditional form as a template and used hexagonally bent glass tube in combination with silk cord to create unique woven basket-like structure. Selected lighting units to be spiraling rotate on a halogen lamp pole lean.
