This is one of the beach house the collection of David Coleman Architecture. SF 2000 is a retreat in Washington’s San Juan Islands is carefully located to preserve the natural landscape. Design interpret the “summer camp” in a modern way, complete with sleeping pavilion, a large room, and covered porch – inspired by the platform tents and huts of the national parks of the last century. Length A 60 ‘, glass and wood – framed terrace giving orders to the site and connecting the three pavilions, positioned at an angle to direct them toward specific views and landscape features. The details are subtle and expressive-built- in bench wraps the perimeter of the terrace; glass window extends down to the bottom of the flat roof; angle cantilever to float like the branches of trees in the surrounding forest. This luxurious villa located in the United States with nearly all initerior built using wood. This 7-bedroom ski-in/ski-out luxury home is located on a private wooded lot in the gated community of The Colony near Canyons Resort. The entire home is solidly constructed using reclaimed wood. One hundred and fifty year-old railroad trusses reclaimed from the Great Salt Lake are secured by oversized steel plates, rods and anchors. The cabinets are myrtle wood from a dead myrtle wood forest in Oregon. The floors are circle-cut trestle wood, and the exterior siding of the home is reclaimed barn wood from California.
